A beard transplant is a simple solution to this problem that alleviates bald patches, creating a full healthy beard or even a well-shaped goatee.
Nearly half of all men struggle to grow a full beard they are proud of, thick and healthy without uneven patches. Loss of facial hair is difficult to mask and can massively affect one’s confidence. If it is unkempt; it is often noticeable and can cause even the most attractive of men to look scruffy and ungroomed. With a beard transplant you have a straightforward solution that produces a full and healthy beard that can be shaped in any way you wish and alleviates bald patches. A beard transplant can conceal scarring (such as acne) or trauma (such as scars, burns or accident). As well as promoting growth it can also alter the appearance of your face, helping you obtain a more contoured line and a fuller and more attractive shaved look.
At Zestige, beard restoration is carried out using FUE surgery. Individual follicles at the donor site (an area with dense hair follicles) are removed. This is carried out using a specialised punch. The surgical team then dissect the follicles into grafts containing one, two or three hairs whilst the surgeon marks up the contour of the beard and makes fine incisions for placement of the grafts. The follicles are then inserted into these channels to follow the natural pattern, angulation and direction of your beard to create a seamless blend.
The procedure is caried out under local anaesthetic and there is minimal discomfort both during and after the procedure.
After surgery, the patient can return home safely. There may be some slight reddening of the skin, more noticeable in those with fair complexions. There may be some minor discomfort in the first few days and some patients experience swelling. Most patients return to work the following day. Normal amounts of exercise and other strenuous activity can be resumed after 4 days post-surgery.
It is important to moisten the transplanted area with saline provided in the Zestige post-op pack to help soften the scabs and reduce irritation. It is ideal to avoid shaving for a month following the procedure but facial can be trimmed after 2 weeks.
It is normal for transplanted hairs to drop out after 2 weeks following the surgery. After about 3 months following the procedure, the new hair will grow and continue to do so for the rest of your lifetime. This will then require a normal maintenance regime of shaving, trimming or styling.
Almost 50% of males find it difficult to grow a full, healthy beard or sideburns with even growth and no patchy areas. A beard transplant is a simple solution to this problem that alleviates bald patches, creating a full healthy beard or even a well-shaped goatee.
